Colour mode changes from RGB to CMYK ?

Our picture files are all in Adobe RGB working space. They have been handled to give the best possible quality when converted to CMYK colour space with the minimum loss of colour.

Each print house or press facility will have their own preferences for file colour space so it is best to consult them about the colour space that will best serve them. If in doubt we recommend that you leave the RGB conversion to those professionals.

Don't ever change the picture colour space to CMYK unless you are quite sure
what you are doing and why you are doing it and you know what RBG and
CMYK profiles you are working with.

In case you do not have technical advice from your print house or press we would suggest the following. These recommendations produce the best blue and green shades found in many Leuku landscape photographs.

European customers use either - Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27 or Euroscale Coated v2

North American customers use US Web Coated (SWOP) v2

For other regions please consult your local print houses.

Remember if your project is destined for print, occassionally preview the image using the Working CMYK setting as indicated in the image below as a way to soft proof the result onscreen.

Never change our RGB colour space pictures to another form of RGB, i.e., sRGB, ColorMatch or other. It will adversly affect the subsequent conversion to CMYK.

The only time you should convert from Adobe RGB to sRGB is when using the images for web pages or other screen presentations. The sRGB will give much more lively screen colours than any other RGB colour space.
