LEUKU "SHARP" WORD SEARCH

- Leuku database has over 20 000 main keywords in english
- Over 2 000 scientific "Latin" double names
- Almost all in both English and Finnish
- Overall there are about 60 000 words

TO START THE SEARCH

- You can just click the ready available category word from the big table
- Little blue numbers indicate the number of images found by that keyword

- Or you star writing a more specific keyword
- When you start typing you can see a clickable dropdown menu of the main keywords that begin
by the letters you typed

- Clicking a word starts the search immediately
- If you type the whole word or several words click Enter -key at the end to start the search

- You can also select a photographer first to start the search

THE RESULTS OF YOUR SEARCH

- The small thumbnail images emerge automatic when you start the search
- Under every image you see short description of image. There is always subject, place/country and the year
images was taken

- On the next page clicking the big image bring you back here - just in the situation you found the image

- You can go to previous or next big image by clicking the left/right small images
- The keywords of the image seen below also serve as links to a corresponding new search

iPad and other tablets work a little different way

- The big image page miss small images becouse previous and next image comes by a swipe

- Zoom is missing - Apple and MagicZoom promise it work for next November
- The added iPad helppps up putomatically when the device is torned portrait position

ZOOM

Zoom makes the image almost full the screen
- in a big screen really big image.
The zoom image closes when you click it
"nicer" close if you click outside the image

When the mouse (meaning the cursor icon) is taken
(without cklicking) over the imgae the detail
zoomed emerges

The detail image pixel resolution is 50% of the Leuku big
downloadable file. Sa a 6000 pixels wide image shows here as
3000 pixel wide showing a detain what the screen size allows

When the mouse is taken off the iamge it ratains full screen
and the detail comes back when nouse somea basct on image

Detail resolution makes the physical size of image on screen
about the same as in high quality print so you can really judge if
the quality is suitable for your particular need.

NARROWING THE SEARCH

- You can click or write tree search criteria to narrow the often too big amount of images - Try "beach Finland play"
- The basic idea of narrowing goes: If you use words "cat dog" you only get those few images where there are
cats and dogs in the very same images

- You can use also red labeled "NOT ..." keys to some of those words that often produce too many images

- The third saltwort is not necessary to empty just replace it with one click something else - like a photographer
- The green and black/orange word can jut be clicked away from search

SCIENTIFIC NAMES

- The scientific names (Binomial nomenclature) informally often called "Latin names" of fauna and flora are in use
- You just change the option to scientific names and then you get a list of names when you start typing

- The name pairs emerge in both family name (capital start letter) or the species name by (small start letter)
- So you does not need to remember what was the family of for instance some "dorsalis". Just type dorsalis and
you see dorsalis, Conocephalus and as the result you get the images of Conocephalus dorsalis

- Write Parus end click Enter so you get all the Parus family animals - tits family birds
- You can also use use Finnish or English drop down words regardless of the Leuku site user language. Just select
Finnish in the English Leuku if you want

TOO MANY IMAGES !

- If you have slow internet connection or some old slow computer with small memory please consider not to open
thousands of images pressing theSHOW ALL ... selection that is shown if there are over 500 images on search
- Opening several thousand images may take ages to open and and give you feeling that you browser not work

- You can always narrow your search for some hundreds or for faster network may be under some 3000 of images
- For instance you can show your search by each photographer at time or in one country or season at time

BASKET

- As a registered customer you can collect images to you basket to wait for final buying decision
- If your username and password are shared for some users they all can select, add, remove, buy and download
the images from their own desktops

DOWNLOAD

- The images bought can be downloaded from the download page
- If your company username and password are shared for designers, prepress or printing personnel they can
download images for use just in the format they prefer and for the location they need them
